We are located in a modern and spacious 30,000 Sq.feet campus in Chennai. There are four major departments in hotel management namely Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office, and Accommodation Operations. A student who studies in this institute can equip himself professionally in all these major subjects and choose one as his career in the hotel industry. The objective of the institute is to make the student concentrate on all round development and instill in him the importance of acquiring a multi – skill which is the need of the hospitality industry in this new era. This department is divided into four major food preparation training facilities:
Basic & Advanced training Kitchen is designed for students to practice and trained to cook from basic to advanced level. Here the students are taught to prepare food in portion as well as in bulk quantities.
Basic level of the cuisine is commonly Indian & French, though it does concentrate on other global cuisines as well.
Also the advanced level of cookery is taught and practiced as like Mexican, Chinese, Thai, and continental are prepared and skills like Ice carving, Vegetable carving, etc are teach to the students.
Bakery & Confectionery :
The students in this kitchen are trained to make different varieties of dough, breads, cakes and wedding cake decorations, sugar work, chocolates and a host of cold dessert preparations in their practical hours.
Food & Beverage Service :
There is a Restaurant named California with well furnished restaurant which has completely air conditioned and availed with the international standard food service equipments. Here we teach our students from the basic fundamentals to advanced level of restaurant operations.
Front Office Operation :
In this department students are trained to handle the front office operations, guest interactions & Etiquettes etc,
Accommodation Operations :
Our institute has a model guest double room with the standard of five star hotel, here we teach the laundry, various level of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene procedure, flower arrangements and decorations etc.,.
Spacious Class rooms, Computer Lab, Training Restaurant, Production Kitchen, Housekeeping room, Front desk training unit, Library, Separate Locker rooms for boys & girls.
The Institute has a well stocked library and contains additional materials not only pertaining to the subject but also on different subjects. The books are frequently updated and several magazines and journals are provided to offer the students an insight into the latest trends in the industry. Students are encouraged to utilize the facility to the maximum.
Accommodation facilities have been provided for both boys & girls separately. Inmates are provided with best possible amenities to make their stay comfortable and convenient to pursue their studies. The hostel is located close to the Institute. The Institute has a Cafeteria and it provides Indian & Continental food for the inmates.
MIHMCT has professionally trained and qualified professions to train the students.
Also we have computer lab, well stocked library, centralized A/C audio visual room, service & guest elevators, separate dining area for day scholars.
We have separate hostel facilities for boys & girls.
We do arrange scholarship from Govt.of tamilnadu under welfare departments to provided for backward/scheduled caste / scheduled tribe community for their educational & welfare.
